Book 9 for 2016: The Three-Body Problem
This year had almost entirely been physical books, and after reading yesterday’s short bit of Martian fiction on my awesome kindle, I decided to give it some more love with this week’s read: The Three Body Problem.
In accordance with my yearly goal to ‘see what all the fuss is about’ with a bunch of authors/movies/foods, I chose this book by the Chinese author Liu Cixin. I specifically mention that he is Chinese, because this book seems to be at the forefront of a Chinese Science Fiction resurgence at the moment, and the people over at io9 have been raving about it since its translation hit shelves (be they digital or physical) back in 2014. Not to mention that undeniably cool President Obama has been reading it on holidays this year, and Mark Zuckerberg had it as a part of his ‘Year in Books’ last year. Definitely time to see what all the fuss is about.
